Brishti Basu

Brishti is a journalist and editor based in Victoria BC. She was a staff reporter at Capital Daily, an award-winning longform publication in Victoria, for two years where she focused on in-depth coverage of healthcare, housing, policing, race, sexual violence and stories at the intersections between them. In those two years, Basu produced multiple investigative articles that have been nominated for three national and provincial journalism awards. She is also a prolific freelance journalist, and her reporting has been featured in publications such as VICE, the Tyee, the Narwhal, National Geographic and BBC Future. Brishti is also NCM’s Deputy Editor.
